![]() It’s that time of the year when I do my big shoe swap in my tiny little closet. Every year I spend some time in my closet swapping out my summer sandals and heels and changing them out for my fall shoes. Especially all the boots! My closet is so teeny tiny, and boots take up so much space. So I store a few under my bed and on a non-accessible wall in my closet. Come fall, I swap out my espadrilles and sandals and organize all my boots. It’s also the perfect time for me to evaluate my shoes and do some purging. I also like to make a mental note of any shoes I may want to add to my closet. Every fall, the boot trends change ever so slightly. While they’ll always be a closet staple like a classic Chelsea boot, waterproof rainboot, and knee-high boots, fall 2021 also has some fun styles to try. White boots are everywhere, and the lug sole boot trend is having a major moment. So I like to take a little inventory of what I have and which pair of boots I’m looking to buy. Boots are simply a classic for fall and winter so I always make sure my collection is up to par. They’re both stylish and functional as they help to keep you warm during the cooler temps. These are the best boots in style this season to style from day to night, office to the weekend. Best Boots In Style This SeasonCombat BootsAn edgy favorite, combat boots are a favorite for fall. I love the classic Dr Martens to achieve this look. But there are tons of other options to choose from as well. Pairing them with dresses is a great way to style your fall frocks for the season. But also great for a casual vibe with jeans or leather leggings and a cozy oversized sweater. You’ll be reaching for these comfortable and cool boots all season long. ![]() Knee High BootsI’m going to say it, I think over-the-knee boots are done. I’m over them. Same with a riding flat boot. I never really loved them except when I embraced 2015 fashion really hard as a fashion blogger. But I’m not loving them now and instead embracing the knee-high high-heeled boots. I think they’re great with dresses and skirts for fall. I love a boho suede knee-high boot with a fun floral dress. I think it’s perfection. And just don’t go for classic black boots, there are lots of options for fun prints like these snakeskin Schutz ones and even these cool Tory Burch ones I’m personally eyeing. Lug Sole BootsHands down the most popular, and newest style on the list. For fall 2021, this is THE boot to get if you’re looking for what’s most on-trend and cool. A lug sole boot is simply a boot that has a really chunky, indented sole. They’re really ideal for winter weather and having good tread on slippery ground. But right now it’s the fashion trend of the moment. They’re definitely a chunkier, more edgy kind of boot to style. I’ve seen them in a Chelsea style and also lace-up and even high-heeled versions. I love them all. Wear them with jeans, faux leather leggings, and even dresses for a cool juxtaposition. Chelsea BootsThey’ll never go out of style and will always be a pair you can count on. Chelsea boots are simply a style of boot that has an elastic side that allows you to slide the shoe on and off. They can come in a flat boot, a high heel, prints and more. If you don’t own a Chelsea boot yet, grab a pair now and you’ll love them for years. ![]() Waterproof BootsFor those truly wet and slushy days, a waterproof boot is essential. For a stylish waterproof or winter boot, I really like the brand Blondo. Sorel also makes some stylish boots and so does Ugg. But you can always go classic in Chelsea rain boots. I bought these years ago to walk my god in and just to have as a good somewhat stylish rainboot and I get so much use out of them. ![]() Heeled BootiesHeeled booties are always a go-to for me. And again, they can come in all sorts of styles from Chelsea, to glove boots and everything in between. I really like these to be my dress shoe for fall and winter. It keeps your feet warmer than a stiletto. Think of a nice smooth leather pointy toed high heel bootie. It’s perfect with jeans or dresses. I love them paired with tights too and dresses (or even shorts!). Glove BootsThe glove boot or sock boot trend came onto the scene big time a couple of years ago. I think they’re the ideal boot to wear with straight leg jeans as they don’t add any bulk and hug your ankle. Allowing your jeans to lay nicely over them without bunching. Whether this has an actual sock like material at the ankle, or is simply super fitted and molded to your ankle, either option would be considered a glove boot style.
